The Elephant Trophy

The Elephant itself is a rather ugly sculpture discovered in the possession of ancient nomadic hill tribes by veteran Beamer Dave 'Indiana' Nicholls. It was brought back to the UK in the early 1980's when despite remarkable ambivalence from the V&A the Beamers recognised this unassumming statue to have extraordinary powers. Once the 'Elephant' is placed on the mantelpiece of the winner that person is endowed with supernatural powers, they do not age, youth springs eternal, they are as virile as Oscar the dog (maybe more), when they smile Beamerworld smiles with them, and money magically disappears from their pockets to be exchanged for beers.Presented at the Annual Dinner every year, the Elephant is a potent symbol of Beamerness. It is our all, our everything and more. The Elephant is not awarded for ability on the field, simply for making Beamerworld a better place. It now has a beautiful new coat, made by emma Mitchell, to keep it warm.

The Elephant is one of the three two Beamers annual awards.

The 'Churny Moment Award' goes to those Beamers involved in the most ridiculous event of the year and the 'Furry Box of Support' goes to any non playing Beamer who has shown tireless enthusiasm in the face of mindless tedium has been dropped due to lack of support. Honestly! Nevertheless the one everyone wants is the Elephant, it is currently on the mantelpiece of jeremy cave
